grayling. The lake trout is a member of the char family and is also
called grey trout, Great Lakes char, forktail trout, mountain trout,
namaycush, mackinaw trout, salmon trout, togue, laker and touladi.
The official scientific name is Salvelinus namaycush. Other species
include several species of whitefish (including the majestic Inconnu)
and northern pike are abundant in the waters around Tincup.

At Tincup, we cherish our fish and
the natural environment that produces them, so barbless hooks are
the rule at all times and we advocate catch, photograph and release.
