Biography George Bahm
(Guide)

George was born and raised in the Yukon
and is of 50% Tlingit first nation ancestry. Three
generations of guiding started with George's grandparents
who were amongst the first guides in the Southwestern
Yukon. A lifetime in the outdoors has taught him a deep
respect for and knowledge of the Yukon's unique flora and
fauna.
Having been a pilot for thirteen years, George has an
excellent view of many of the pristine rivers and lakes
where he goes to fish. When not in the air, he can be
found with a fly rod in hand, probing the depths for the
ever elusive "perfect catch". This desire brought him to Tincup in 2001 and he has been here every summer
since.
George has been fly fishing for 18 years and was one of
the first fly fishing guides to hold a Wilderness tourism
license. George has represented the Tourism Industry
Association of the Yukon at international Sportsman shows.
He has been selected by Tourism Yukon to host several
outdoor writers and has appeared in Fly
Fisherman Magazine and Travel Canada Magazine. George is a
Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor and
is on the guide program for several manufacturers. This
allows him to keep up with the technology of our sport and
test some modern gear.
